Non-Food items – essentials.
It’s natural that the first thing anyone thinks to donate to a food bank is food but toiletries and hygiene products are also extremely important.
The Healthy Life will be working alongside Devizes Food Bank to drop off items donated on our ‘Gift One’.
Simply place your order via the website, by email or over the phone. 01380 725558 (please leave a message if we don’t pick up, we will get back to you)
Just make a note in the comments box on your order so we know which items to run down to the food bank.
- toilet paper
- shower gel
- shaving gel
- tooth paste
Household items –
Food banks provide a minimum of three-days’ nutritionally balanced, non-perishable tinned and dried foods that have been donated people in the local community..
We’ve worked with nutritionists to develop a food parcel that contains sufficient nutrition for adults and children, for at least three days of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families.
A typical food parcel includes:
- Tinned tomatoes
- Pasta sauce
- Lentils Beans & Pulses
- Tinned meat – see CW butchers or Walter Roses
- Tinned Fish
- Tinned vegetables – (ours are frozen and not suitable)
- Tinned fruit
- UHT milk
- Fruit juice
When visiting a food bank centre, one of its volunteers will run through the food parcel packing list with you to check any special dietary requirements that you may have.
